Here is a little about me:

My name is Mariah Everett and I am a senior in college studying biology at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. I am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico—a beautiful desert where we eat green chile, watch amazing sunsets, and spot hot air balloons and roadrunners. In addition to teaching, I am passionate about public health and working with refugees.

I hope to eventually work in global health, bringing genetic services to children in developing nations. In my free time, I enjoy reading, knitting, working as a theater stagehand, and exploring new places. I am so excited to meet all of you and to be living and working in Zlin next year! I really want to learn the Czech language as well as learn about Czech culture, food, and crafts because my mother’s family is from Slovakia and I want to know more about the region.
